Civic Couch is now accepting images and video footage for our first annual "Best of the South Bay Winter" Awards. The event will feature prizes and awards for "Best Barrel", "Biggest Air", "Best Wipeout" and "Overall Surfer of the Winter.

The Hermosa Beach Playhouse was the scene for the 2011 South Bay Surf Film Fest and Big Wave Awards. Some of the South Bay's top talents were in attendance as well as the legends. Donovan Frankenreiter rocked the playhouse pre- awards and movie.

New Year, New Swell. 2011 brought a much needed swell to the South Bay. Stand out spots saw double overhead sets. The best spots were the Breakwall up to the Jetty. View surfing pictures from this new swell as we chased it around the South Bay.

The 2010 Fashion Food and Wine Festival featuring the Dinner of Champs is on Saturday, August 21st at Raleigh Movie Studios in Manhattan Beach. Check out the pre-event online event program here.

More than 10,000 race enthusiasts participated in this years Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10k/5k run - walk. This was Redondo Beach's 32nd year hosting the event.
