They mayoral term for City Council Member Mitch Ward was celebrated last night at the Manhattan Beach City Council meeting. The city also welcomed City Council Member Richard Montgomery as its new mayor.

Council Member Ward served his second term as mayor from December 15th, 2009 to October 5th, 2010. All four of the current city council members gave individual speeches to Council Member Ward and the crowd watching in person and on cable television.  Council Member Ward finished his term by highlighting the events and accomplishments that have happened to the city during his term.  Council Member Ward's Council 4 year term ends in March. 2011.

Council Member Richard Montgomery's second term runs from October 05, 2010 - July 19, 2011.  

Manhattan Beach, a General Law City, has a five-member City Council, elected at large to formulate policy for the city. Each member serves a nine (9) month mayoral position during their four (4) year term.
